Townsville Folk Festival
The Townsville Folk Festival, previously known as the Palm Creek Festival, is a vibrant celebration of folk and acoustic music, art, and community spirit. Hosted by the Townsville Folk and Acoustic Music Club, the festival has been an annual tradition for over three decades, bringing together a diverse mix of artists, performers, and festival-goers.
Location and Timing
The festival unfolds at Foots Hill Station, around 60 kilometers southwest of Townsville, North Queensland. It’s a four-day weekend event, typically held in June every year.
Festival Experience
The festival kicks off on a Thursday, with gates opening at 10:00 AM for full-season campers to settle in and soak up the early festival atmosphere. By 4:00 PM, the festival grounds open to all, marking the start of live music and festivities.
Friday sees the official start of the festival from 8:30 AM to midnight, featuring an opening ceremony that sets the tone for a weekend packed with non-stop entertainment. Saturday maintains the momentum with a full schedule from morning till midnight, including a festival parade, fire show, bush dance, and a variety of musical performances.
Sunday starts with a bush poets breakfast and continues with impressive acts throughout the day, culminating in a closing ceremony around 6:00 PM. For full-season campers, Monday is a day to relax and reflect on the festival experience before packing up.

Turn left onto Dingo Park Rd, before the Caltex Reid River petrol station (10 km )
